Origin of the breed
In this article I would like to share about one breed of cats that is rare in Russia, and in the world, with the mysterious name “Asian Tabby”. The question did not arise - what is the mystery here, since the names of breeds often use the place of the natural origin of cats or the creation of the breed? For example, this is the name given to such famous cat breeds as “American Bobtail” and “American Wirehair”, “Australian Mist”» and others. But with this breed everything is a little different. The Asian tabby was bred by UK phenologists. They studied different breeds of cats, the characteristics of their appearance, habits, character and its manifestations, as well as other short-haired animals. For their selection, scientists selected the Burmese cat breed and the Persian chinchilla. But this was not enough, and therefore later they additionally crossed the Burmese breed with Abyssinian cats.
The tabby color chosen for this breed belongs to Asian shorthair cats. It differs from other tabbies in its almost even color with a slightly noticeable pattern. The Asian tabby has a "scarab mark" on its forehead - dark markings that are characteristic of wild Asian cats. — All this formed the name of the breed.
Appearance Features
From its “ancestors” the Asian tabby received a strong body and a fairly powerful, slightly round chest, which, together with a muscular body and a toned belly, gives the cat gracefulness.
Overall, the result was a medium-sized body with medium-sized, dark, erect ears on the outside, widely spaced in the upper part of the cheekbones and slightly tilted forward. The tips of the ears are rounded.
The cat's medium-length tail is interesting - straight, but tapering to an oval tip, on which dark rings of color are visible.
The cat's fur is short and slightly shiny, which does not make it difficult to care for. Coat colors can include a wide variety of colors: chocolate and black, caramel and red, cream and purple, as well as a variety of colors: spotted, tortoiseshell, brindle. Cats with blue and silver colors are especially good.
The eyes, like most artificial breed cats, are large. Asian tabbies have an almond shape and an amber-yellow tint to their color that is hard to miss. Characteristic of the breed is the “necklace” that wraps around the neck and the lining on the face around the eyes, nose and mouth. - All this gives the cat sympathy and charm.
The Asian tabby is not cheap, so when choosing such a cat for yourself, you should pay attention to the features of its appearance so as not to get a cat of another similar breed or a completely out-of-breed cat instead.
Character and temperament of the breed
The Asian Tabby is a cat with an impeccable feline appearance. No significant differences in character from other cat breeds have been identified. But you can’t help but love her! This noble creature is endowed with impeccable manners, understanding and friendliness. Thanks to this character trait, the cat easily gets along with other pets. You can leave it with them even when you are not at home.
By nature she is active and mobile. He loves to play, just like other pets. If you just watch it or play along, it will distract you from gloomy thoughts and lift your spirits, awakening positive emotions. If there are family members with a sanguine temperament in the house, this cat is an ideal option for them. At the same time, the cat easily adapts to loneliness.
