How to eliminate the unpleasant smell of cat urine

Often, cat owners are faced with a problem when their pets can go to the litter box, somewhere under furniture or in shoes, and this causes an unpleasant odor in the apartment, because it is not so easy to remove.

Cat excretions have a specific pungent odor that is not so easy to deal with. Housewives use cleaning products and use homemade tips to eliminate this smell.

Practical tips: how to get rid of the smell of cat urine

Baking soda can help eliminate urine odor by sprinkling it on the stain and adding a drop of hydrogen peroxide. Leave the mixture on the floor for 10 hours, then treat with water and a damp cloth;
Calcium permanganate or a solution of potassium permanganate will help get rid of the most unpleasant odor, and will also help disinfect the area soiled by the pet. To do this, just make a concentrated solution and wipe the marked areas with it, then rinse with water. In order not to paint the surface with manganese, it must be thoroughly dissolved;
Dissolve table vinegar 9% in a ratio of 2 to 1 and pour into a spray bottle. Treat the area with it and when dry, wash with water;
Laundry soap will also help remove stains and eliminate odors. It needs to be dissolved in warm water, it is best to rub the product. If urine has gotten into your shoes or carpet, rub the soap solution into the product and leave for half an hour. Then rinse off the product with warm water;
Squeeze lemon juice into a glass of water and proceed to treating sofas, furniture or linoleum. Do not wash it off, the cat will be afraid of the smell and will stop urinating in this place;
Rub the area with glycerin soap, practically soaping it, then rinse with water and dry;
In the future, you can put coffee beans, ground pepper or citrus peels on the marked places so that the cats avoid them and do not mark them.

Keep an eye on your pet and train him to use the litter box from early childhood, so as not to experience trouble later on.
