Allergy to Sphynx cats
For those people who want to get a cat or a cat of this wonderful breed, but suffer from an allergic reaction, especially to cats and…
You need to understand one, and the main point: allergies are caused not only, and sometimes not so much by wool, but by pathogens located on the skin, and also on wool, contained in saliva. Let's look together at individual Sphynx breeds and whether there is a threat of an allergic condition.
From experience, we will say that the greatest interest in a cat is a wonderful breed: the Don Sphynx. And this is natural: they are beautiful and graceful, at the same time kind and affectionate. But there may be a reaction to one, but not to another. The solution is this: spend one hour in the company of a specifically chosen cat. If no allergic reaction occurs, take it and live in peace. It is enough for children to spend just a few minutes, since their reaction, as a rule, occurs almost instantly.
Now about such beauty as the Canadian Sphynx. Let us note right away: an allergic reaction to this breed is much more common than others. You need to spend much more time with them, and it’s better to stipulate in the contract purchase and salethat if such unpleasant symptoms appear in you or your family members, you will return the Canadian back.
So: the causes of allergies upon contact with sphinxes are skin secretions, and even more often they are found in the saliva and even urine of your pet. To be more precise, it is not the reason, but the fact that they contain protein, which causes this problem. This means: the fact that sphinxes are naked, without fur, is not yet a fact of complete safety from allergies. There are also coincidences: in the apartment where you buy a Sphynx, there may be other irritants: flowers, dust. Allergy sufferers know them well.
What are the symptoms of allergies? First of all: frequent and prolonged sneezing. Almost until you leave the allergenic area. Following this, swelling of the mucous membrane and nasal passages in general begins. Then comes a dry, tearing cough. Well this may end broncho spasms. The second indicator: itching, first redness of the skin, and then the appearance of a rash. In such cases, you must immediately undergo a full examination and treatment prescribed by a doctor.
The main question always arises: the animal cannot be returned, but the allergy has appeared, how to treat it? First of all, do your best. Do thorough and frequent cleaning of your home. Wash your pet often, or rather regularly. Remove carpets and rugs, all things should be in the closet. It is definitely necessary to remove furniture upholstered in any material. Only leather, no money for it - a substitute for leather.
But remember: these are half measures. Solving this problem without a doctor, serious research, testing and drug treatment is impossible.
The conclusion suggests itself: from the point of view of preventing allergies, it is possible to have a Sphynx cat in the house, but you need to be careful and follow the recommendations of specialists.
