Nutrition of a pregnant sphinx cat
The nutrition of a pregnant Sphynx cat depends on several criteria:
— age;
- body weight of the cat;
— activity.
An adult animal weighing 4 kilograms needs from 320 to 350 kcal daily. During pregnancy, the daily rate increases to 1000-1200 Kcal. During pregnancy, the Sphynx cat should be fed at least 4 times a day with small portions of a variety of foods.
During pregnancy, the cat should eat natural foods. Raw meat (preferably beef) should make up at least half of the daily ration. It is not advisable to feed a pregnant Sphynx cat with fish (raw and boiled). Dairy and sour-milk products are recommended to be given after the main meal. 3 weeks before childbirth, it is useful to include nettle leaves in the diet (treat with boiling water), this has a beneficial effect on the functioning of the mammary glands. A decoction of raspberry leaves reduces the risk of miscarriage. Boiled vegetables and cereals with vegetable oil will save your cat from constipation.
Bone meal is a must in your daily diet, add 1 teaspoon to your main meal. Excessive food can cause obesity, try not to overfeed the cat, obesity can cause complications during childbirth.
