Don Sphinx brush

Today I would like to talk about one variety of the Don Sphynx, namely the Don Sphynx brush.

You probably know what this cat breed is. All sphinxes are practically hairless, that is, hairless or bald, as you wish. Their body temperature is high and they are warm to the touch, their skin is soft and wrinkled. In ancient Egypt, cats were worshiped and it is possible that they were sphinxes. You can admire them endlessly.

People who encounter sphinxes for the first time are amazed at the lack of fur and even touch them with caution. But if you spend some time in the presence of this cat, you will fall in love with the breed for life.

But let's move directly to the sphinx brushes.

The offspring of the Don Sphynx are born mostly naked, but they also have a little coarse hair. These cats are classified as the Brush subspecies. These cats, as stated earlier, have hair, but over time it may shrink and remain only on the paws, tail and face.

Also, the presence or absence of hair may depend on the ambient temperature, so in winter the brushes can be completely covered with hair, and in warm weather, vice versa. Hair presence is also influenced by hormones. After castration, the cat may have fur, but the cat will lose it during pregnancy.
From English the word brush is translated as brush, bristly. This is not far from the truth; this kind of hard hair is characteristic of all brushes.

The Don Sphynx Brush has the right to take part in competitions at exhibitions, but as if out of competition, since they definitely will not get prizes. Despite this, brushes are actively used for breeding. Often, brush cats begin to go bald after puberty and after a certain period of time become completely naked, only fur remains on their paws.
