If the kitten has fleas

Many pet lovers sometimes pick up small kittens on the street or thrown at the door out of pity. These soft defenseless creatures...

And everything would be fine if one fine day the kitten didn’t get fleas. By the way, if you bring an outdoor kitten into your home, you need to check it right away. And kittens can become infected from a mother cat if the owners do not pay due attention to her. But this can also happen to a well-groomed domestic kitten when walking outside or interacting with other animals. And the owners have unpleasant troubles associated with treating their pet. And if this is not done in time, the kitten’s fragile body may simply not be able to withstand it and die from the parasitic load. What to do? Read our tips or others. But don't be idle!

Combing
This is the most gentle way to fight fleas. Buy a soft plastic comb urgently. Choose one with fine teeth. They should be blunt at the ends. Now be patient and comb the animal’s fur for 5-7 minutes, 2-3 times a day. At the same time, supporting the baby under the belly, begin the combing procedure from the scruff of the neck. Then turn it over on its back. In order not to injure the fragile creature, do not touch the forehead and neck, or the paws. With regular brushing, you can clean out a kitten’s fur in a week, but it’s worth checking from time to time so as not to miss when new offspring hatch from the parasite larvae remaining on the fur.

Shampoos, drops, flea collars
— You are very lucky if your pet loves to swim. Well, if not, the poor fellow will have to be patient. After all, treatment with special flea shampoos is the simplest and most effective way. Before you start bathing your baby, read the instructions for the shampoo carefully. Be sure to make sure that the product does not get into the animal’s nose, eyes and ears, otherwise you will have new problems related to the health of your little pet. As a rule, after 2-3 bathing procedures at the frequency indicated on the shampoo packaging, your kitten will become absolutely healthy and lively, as fun as it was before the disease.
— If your kitten is more than three months old, you can try treatment with flea drops. Among these drugs there are also ones for younger ages. But you can deal with them if the kitten is no longer fed by the mother cat. Why? The drops are toxic. They are applied to the withers of the kitten. A cat, while caring for her baby, will simply lick them off, causing harm not only to herself, but also to the health of the other kittens she feeds.
— Collars are an effective remedy for fleas, and they are also safe. They can be purchased at any store that specializes in selling products for pets. What are their disadvantages? – On the delicate neck of kittens, collars sometimes cause skin irritation or can simply rub it. And kittens don’t really put up with such “decoration”, and therefore they will try to get rid of it in nervous tension.

To avoid harming the kitten
There are also simple folk remedies for fighting fleas. This is a warm bath: a tablespoon of salt in a regular glass of water, in which the kitten is immersed for 10 minutes, making sure, as when bathing, that water does not get into the ears and nose. Then you need to dry the kitten and comb the fur with a comb. Several such procedures - and there will be no trace of fleas left. You can also use a decoction of tansy or wormwood to wipe the kitten by brewing a tablespoon of dried herb in a glass of boiling water.
In these simple ways, bring back the joy of life to your pet.
