How to train a cat to use the toilet?
If you bought a kitten, or maybe it was given to you as a gift, which is fashionable now, then it urgently needs to be toilet trained. And even better - to the toilet. Today, a quick and convenient way to do this is a training system - a clicker. After all, cats of almost every breed have a wonderful property - learning ability.
Of course, you can also train him to the tray - the standard method. But behind this is the need to wash it daily, change the bedding, etc. The clicker will save you from this.
A little about clicker training
If you want to teach your pet good manners, clicker training makes it easy. Here, training occurs with the help of a clear clicker signal - a small box with a metal clicking plate.
And so, find just 5-10 minutes to study with your pet. The main thing in the teaching method is patience and following simple rules:
The kitten must know that the click of the clicker is something pleasant for him. To do this, prepare a treat at the beginning of the lesson, cut into small pieces, which your pet loves very much. Before starting the training, the cat should be hungry (let a couple of hours pass after feeding and the food bowl will be empty). Now give the animal a small piece of treat (let him take it), and click. And repeat this a few more times. - This was the first lesson.
Start the second lesson with repetition. Then we teach the cat to follow the direction of your hand. Take a pencil or ruler (pointer) and show it to the student. Showed interest? – Click and treat.
Now we are trying to teach her to chase a pencil. Move the pencil a little and click if the cat reacts to the movement of your hand. If not, don't click. Try again.
We repeat the tasks of the first lessons and teach the kitten to jump on a chair (toilet with the lid closed, etc.). Don’t forget to praise and treat, otherwise you won’t achieve results.
Once you have succeeded, repeat the exercises, but the toilet should now be with the lid open and the seat down. Let this cover be on the floor at first so that the cat gets used to stepping on it and even sleeping on this seat. And every time, click on her correct actions and give her a piece of treat.
Well, while we’re learning, we can’t do without a tray. Place it closer to the toilet (preferably right away). If your pet is already used to the lid on the floor, move it to the tray, just secure it securely. And again play with the animal so that it jumps onto the open tray. After a week, the cat will be ready to move the tray into the toilet.

Today, there are different systems among simulators for toilet training cats. If we take into account customer reviews, the most popular among them are the following:
— A domakot in which it is clearly marked where to cut the holes. There is an additional tray. But the design has a flexible bottom, which is not very pleasant for animals. To go with it, you need to buy a soft, non-slippery cat seat for the toilet, and, of course, washable.
— City Kitty and Waka. These exercise machines have a similar design, but City Kiti is not sold in Russia.
— Toilet seat covers from the series of exercise machines mentioned earlier, which can be bought in Ukraine. But they are preferable for cats weighing up to 4.5 kg. All products in this series are quite convenient, because... Suitable for almost any toilet. Holes are easy to cut.
— Litter Quitter is the most popular system abroad. This may be due to the strength and stability of the structure with good depth. There is no need to cut anything. It is better to accustom a cat to it from the floor. But as a minus it is worth mentioning the high price of the product. The simulator requires the purchase of additional trays to gradually increase the holes.
— Felin Evolution is a good clicker trainer with sliding curtains. There is no need to constantly remove the tray from the toilet. There are legs to gradually increase the height and a wide, comfortable seat for the cat. But the product for washing inside is difficult to access.
