Manx is a tailless breed of cat.
A kitty endowed with a charming feline charm, compensated for her tail taken away by nature. This is Manx, a representative of cat breeds from the island that gave ...
Owners of cats of this breed speak very warmly of their pets with a mischievous sparkle in their eyes. The cat is playful, nimble with an active lifestyle. She will not decorate your sofa, calmly observing what is happening. She needs to be an active participant in everything that happens in the apartment - children playing or general cleaning. You may also have such an assistant if you purchase this most wonderful creation.
How did the Manx breed come about?
Many, many years ago, on the Isle of Man, people saw an unusual kitten among one of the litters. This kitten differed from its fellows in that it did not have a tail. They say that the color of his coat distinguished him from them - it resembled the black waters of the Irish Sea.
According to one legend, the tail was lost by an animal on Noah's ark, where it was pinched by the doors when it was the last one to run onto the ark.
A couple of centuries ago, even this tailless cat was depicted on the island’s emblem. Such popularization came from the inhabitants of the island, who loved and protected tailless cats, considering them “messengers of good luck.”
This kitten became the harbinger of the future breed. Nature not only took away the tail from this animal, but also made changes to the structure of the body, which greatly adorned the cat, allowing felinologists to recognize this unique pure breed over time.
Its fur in any color resembles a plush fur coat. The round head with small wide-set ears is decorated with a cute muzzle. And the huge eyes, the color of which matches the color of the coat, add softness and intelligence to this face.
The cat came to the USA and Europe in the thirties of the twentieth century, where the breed soon gained recognition.
Manx character
Manx cats are smart. They skillfully demonstrate their emotions, although most cats need a tail for this. On the one hand, they are distinguished by modesty and poise in their behavior, but on the other hand, they are truly distinguished by excessive curiosity, playfulness and even playfulness. To satisfy their curiosity, manxies choose the highest places in their home, jumping onto them thanks to their strong paws.
Among family members, they give preference to the owner, but they also treat others with respect. The owner's cat will gladly lie on his lap if she is given such an honor, but if not, cats of this breed do not require much attention to themselves.
Manxes are forgiving towards other animals in the house. It is important that they are friendly. It should also be noted that nature taught cats to hunt at one time, and therefore they have not forgotten how to catch mice, and sometimes birds may be unlucky.
If you find a cat in the bathtub or sink, don't be fooled. This does not mean at all that your pet loves to swim. But she loves water, or rather, playing with it. To verify this, just leave the tap dripping. And this miracle can even climb onto the toilet seat to monitor the draining water. If you are interested, teach your cat to flush the toilet - she will quickly learn her lessons.
Care
Manx is a short-haired breed, and therefore the rules of care are similar. You need to comb the fur no more than once a week, and bathe it as needed. Watch your teeth and ears. The kitty will not refuse a house and toys, even those made by herself.
It is better to buy ready-made cat food, fortified, so that there are no health problems.
If sterilization is necessary, it is best to do it at six months of age, not earlier, so that the cat can more easily tolerate this procedure.
By purchasing such a kitten, you will get yourself a little mischievous pet that will help you get rid of a bad mood if necessary.
