Sterilization of cats in a veterinary clinic
Types of cat sterilization
Kits at the age of seven to nine months become sexually mature, which means that they are already ready for reproduction. But not all owners of pets are ready to grow and educate furry babies due to workload or not desire. Therefore, they often resort to surgery, namely, sterilize young cats.
What is sterilization, types:
Sterilization of cats in a veterinary clinic is a surgical surgery that deprives the animal of the ability to multiply.
The types of cat sterilization include:
- Ovariectomy, that is, the removal of the ovaries, is left the uterus. The cats stops the estrus. After surgical intervention, the inflammatory process of the uterus may manifest, but the risk of new formations of the mammary glands, as well as ovarian polycystic formations, decreases;
- ovariostectomy - the complete removal of the uterus and ovaries, the best surgical intervention from the point of view that prevents an undesirable pregnancy, eliminates the estrus, relieves the risk of inflammation of the ovaries, uterus, and breast tumors;
- The ligation of the fallopian tubes is not as popular as the above method of solving the problem of sterilization, because with this option there are estrus, which attracts cats and a high risk of uterus problems.
The cat can be sterilized at the age
Veterinarians often change the age when it is possible to sterilize the cats. Some assure that the procedure can be performed at any age. Other experts argue that the best time for this process is the age of four to six months. Motivating this by the fact that the kitten at this age has not yet reached puberty, which better affects the behavior of the pet after surgery.
