Kitten found at shelter

This adorable brown cat from Aspen, Colorado, USA loves skiing, biking, hiking and boating. In principle, he is ready for any adventure, the main thing is that his owners are nearby, as active as their pet. Erin Geldermans and Dan Schreck happened to see a photo of the brown cat online when he was 10 weeks old at the Rifle Animal Shelter. The couple decided to adopt Ruduli. “There’s something special about him,” Erin said at the time. "I just feel it." Erin dreamed of having her own cat all her life, as she was not allowed to have one as a child because several family members were allergic to cat hair.

Erin decided long ago that if she ever had the opportunity to take an animal home, it would definitely be from a shelter, and not purchased from breeders. One reason was that more than 2 million pets are euthanized each year in the United States because they are not adopted.

Engaged in any activity

From the very first days it was clear that the red kitten was extremely curious - he was interested in absolutely everything, and Liben constantly asked to go outside for a walk. In this sense, he had a lot in common with his owners, Erin and Dan, who also love to explore new places and travel. Seeing the kitten's eagerness for walks, the couple bought a leash and toys and went with him to explore the surroundings outside his native territory. Liebchen enjoyed these outings so much that early in the morning he would sit by the window and meow, thereby informing his owners that it was time to go somewhere. It wasn't long before Erin and Dan took the ginger cat on his first two-day hike. Since then, Liebchen has had a hook in his mouth, and now the three of them are constantly going somewhere. Liebchen enjoys hiking (he measures longer stretches of road while sitting proudly in his owner's bag), enjoys boating and soup, biking in the summer and skiing in the winter. He takes part in any events with pleasure. “He’s very adventurous and not afraid of anything,” admits Dan.

I don't mind the equipment

Liebchen's owners have created their own accounts on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, where they publish photos from numerous trips with the ginger cat. Followers are delighted with the ginger cat, especially with his stylish snowboard goggles, which protect the animal’s eyes from the bright sun. “Liben never objects to the equipment he has to wear. Even wearing safety glasses when riding a bike or skiing is already commonplace for him,” says Erina. Liebchen is always safe - his owners constantly watch and take care of him, never letting him off the leash if they know there may be wild animals nearby. The owners admit that hiking is what Liebchen loves most. “He loves to jump over rocks and logs and explore forests and deserts. Liben loves to smell new places, discover new plant species, and meet insects and animals. He also loves skiing with us. We put him in a backpack, and he happily enjoys the fabulous views while skiing,” says the cat’s owner.
