Sphynx cat and threats to order in the house
Who among us does not love our pets, who have become full-fledged members of the family? And this despite their freedom-loving and mischievous character, and the manifestation of sometimes wild instincts. Kitties help create an atmosphere of goodness in the house, even some kind of magic and mystery. Such a fluffy little ball will curl up on your lap, look devotedly into your eyes with his cat's eyes, full of abyss and mystery - and you will be overcome by a feeling of tenderness, all his pranks will be forgiven. And sometimes there are a lot of mischief: an overturned flower pot, a torn cornice, furniture that is scratched again, a “walk” on the kitchen table, etc.
How to avoid threats to order in the house from a cat?
Of course, a lot depends on the owners themselves:
1. Train yourself to clean the table after eating in the refrigerator and in pots that are tempting for your pet, so that the smell does not irritate you and does not force you to “clean up” the table for you, until this becomes a permanent habit of the animal. Well, if you are late with this, the habit has taken root, then:
- try to wean off using the proven method - water. Leave a regular baking tray with water on the table so that if the cat wants to jump on the table, it will fall into it. It will help, because they don’t like water;
- You can rearrange the table so that the animal has no opportunity to get on it. Move it away from the windowsill, remove chairs, stools, etc., because they only help the cat climb up to steal a tasty morsel from the table;
- just distract the naughty girl with a loud shout, clap, stomping your foot on her and threateningly wagging your finger if you see a readiness to jump on the table. The intonation of the voice has a positive effect - the cat will understand that it is necessary to abandon its intentions. But in this case, we do not recommend using a broom to frighten, much less beat, because... a touchy and vindictive animal will consider this an insult and will take revenge by doing minor dirty tricks to you.
2. What about flowers? Move them to a place where the animal cannot reach them. Most often, we place indoor plants on window sills, not taking into account the fact that cats like to climb on them to lie in the sun or watch the movements outside through the window. And it’s cruel to deprive your pet of such pleasure. We must take care of her comfort, since we have already started her. Leave her one window, place a chair near it, pull back the curtain - let her look at her cat’s “TV screen”, and move away from the other windows anything that allows her to easily climb onto the windowsill. And close doors to other rooms, especially when leaving home.
Having created such conditions for your pet, you don’t have to worry about your flowers and her too. After all, in addition to the fact that the flower pots will be intact, cats love to try the plants themselves. But they can be harmful to her health. And a falling pot will not injure the animal and will not create additional problems for the owners with cleaning up the dirt.
3. If the cat is interested in curtains, which is especially typical for kittens, simply hang temporarily short curtains or tie them in an original way to raise the curtains to a height inaccessible to the little cat. When he grows up, he will no longer be attracted to them.
4. A scratching post, or better yet, more than one, will help keep your house tidy and protect walls and furniture from being scratched by cat paws. Whether you want it or not, a cat will sharpen its claws, that’s what nature has given it. Therefore, try to accustom your animal to the scratching post at an early age.
As you can see, it doesn’t take much effort to make the house and cat comfortable and to maintain order. Only your desire and love for the animal - and everyone will be fine.
