Ear mites
Small insects cause ear scabies. Their food is earwax, skin particles, and dandruff. Signs of the disease are the unusual behavior of the pet and external manifestations in the auricle, as a result of which the dog or cat has:
- there is a desire to comb the inner surface of the ears;
- pronounced shaking movements of the head to free oneself from parasites;
- Dried blood clots are observed in the auricle - they are easy to notice, they are formations reminiscent of coffee grounds.
The advanced stage of the disease is characterized by the appearance of purulent discharge, ulcerations, and an unpleasant odor from the auricle is clearly felt. If treatment of the disease is delayed in a veterinary clinic, the presence of parasites will lead to the development of otitis media, and then to inner ear disease and damage to the eardrum. This threatens not just hearing loss, but also a fatal outcome. Don't be late for your appointment at the veterinary clinic and get examined so as not to lose your beloved four-legged friend.
Subcutaneous mites
This type is also called scabies. Their effect is damage to the hair follicles and the upper layer of the epidermis, which is clearly revealed in a veterinary clinic upon examination. Scabies parasites cause:
- inflammatory processes on the skin;
- hair loss;
- itchy irritation;
- wounds scattered throughout the pet’s body.
The appearance of subcutaneous insects is fraught with the appearance of open wounds through which infection penetrates, as well as catastrophic weight loss in animals if they refuse to eat. This reduces the pet’s immunity, which becomes a gateway to the activation of other serious diseases. Such parasites are especially dangerous for birds and often lead to their death, but in a veterinary clinic the method of getting rid of the disease in birds is well developed.
Ixodid ticks
This species is considered to carry the greatest risks for pets, mainly for dogs that develop piroplasmosis as a result of infection. Infection is manifested by the destruction of red blood cells. Symptoms of piroplasmosis:
- a sharp increase in temperature values;
- dyspnea;
- urine is dark brown or red;
- refusal to feed;
- anemia, later - yellowness of the mucous membranes.
If you do not pay attention to the development of the disease, this will lead to the death of the dog. The peculiarity is the rapid development of the disease, an extremely short period of time to provide assistance in a veterinary clinic.
Providing assistance
If you notice any ailments characteristic of this lesion in your pets, you should immediately contact a specialist at a veterinary clinic. If you delay in providing assistance, you may lose your pet. Doctors practicing in a veterinary clinic in Nizhny Novgorod have not only the necessary experience to correctly diagnose and treat a pupil, but also equipment - without it it is often impossible to monitor the progress of treatment and adjust it.
